LOCATION: LOUISVILLE, KY

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Supervisor/Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating inside sales and warehouse activities such as customer service, logistics, employee supervision, training & development as well as utilization of networked information systems for sales order entry & inventory management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises employees; fosters a well-trained and motivated staff; performs employee performance reviews, engages in and assists with employee relations activities and corrective action in conjunction with Branch Manager & Human Resources in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develops a culture based on open dialogue and involvement of all employees that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance
  • Provides daily direction and communication to employees so that customer calls & walk-ins are answered in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner.
  • Provides excellent customer service and builds positive relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Resolves customer service issues, tracks open sales orders, and performs follow-ups to ensure the timely shipment of materials and customer satisfaction.
  • Services customers via telephone and/or walk-ins and ensures showroom is properly stocked.
  • Receives and processes customers’ phone orders and enters information accurately into computer system
  • Provides product pricing by consulting the pricing matrix, as well as other tables, to determine the appropriate price while maintaining target margin goals.
  • Generates oral and written quotations.
  • Ensure staff is accurately processing all transactions per policy.
  • Balances daily cash receipts, verifies/releases orders and deposits cash into bank.
  • Provides continual evaluation and improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Tracks and processes all rentals and rental returns.
  • Processes customer returns and ensures pick up notice and proper credit are issued
  • As needed, works with buyers on special order items.
  • Acts as a liaison between warehouse and customers and may pull, pack, ship, and load orders as required.
  • Monitors to ensure proper inventory turns & rotation of stock.
  • Ensure a safe working and shopping environment while minimizing shrink and damages.
  • Trains, certifies and operates all store equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and rebar cutter as needed.
  • Ability to use good judgment when deciding how to handle day to day and unusual issues with customers, vendors and team members.
  • Assists Branch Manager with branch operational duties as required.

Requirements: Education and Experience :

High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent· Construction industry experience· Minimum 3 to 5 years related supervisory experience· Experience with warehouse equipment· PC proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Databases

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for handling data entry for our growing construction material business. Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpretation of construction documents (Blueprints)
  • Provides excellent customer service and builds positive relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Data entry into proprietary management software in addition to Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Ability to use good judgment when deciding how to handle day to day and unusual issues with customers, vendors and team members.

Required Qualifications:
